SAO PAULO, April 13 (Xinhua) -- More than 10 bodies were found on Saturday inside a boat drifting at the mouth of Amazonian rivers flowing into the Atlantic, off the coast of the northern Brazilian state of Para, local fire department said.
The police said in a statement that specialized teams had traveled to the Brazilian Amazon region to investigate the identities of the people in the boat.
According to the local authorities, the boat was discovered by fishermen on Saturday morning in Braganca.
The news network GloboNews reported that 10 to 20 bodies were found on board.
The state authorities announced in a statement that it had launched an investigation into the incident. ■
